visual metaphor

This visual metaphor represents the way I see teaching in the context I work in with all its pros and cons. First of all, for me to be a teacher is a demanding job which requires a lot of abilities from the person who is going to carry it out. Besides, he/she must take risks all the time in different ways in a context which may not be easy to handle. This person must be prepared all the time with different tools when facing his/her lessons because every one of them is a different landscape with its own threats. Nevertheless, all these warnings and preparations are with the objective to share and help different people in their path towards a better society throughout education.

Moreover, teachers have to bear in mind that this path is no longer easy in a world of unexpected changes and unseen endings which may not necessarily mean bad things all the time. At the end, the satisfaction of reaching the top of the mountain will depend on the way you climbed it and the purpose you have for doing it.

  2. Hi Mauro,

I really liked the way you support your metaphor in terms of the narrative. I totally agree with the fact that being a teacher is a demanding job. This can be well reflected in your metaphor, a long way in which many obstacles/opportunities appear to make us better and improve in our practices. Nice

  3. Hello Mauro,
Your metaphor reminds of Sisyphus myth, but in this case teaching and guiding your students is not a pointless task. I totally agree with you on the fact that education is the only way to make a better society.

  4. Hello Mauro,
It is true that teaching is a hard work and we have to be aware of improving our professional development because we are the guide of our students and we have to cope with different situations according to the context of the students.
